The Antelope Valley Line (AVL) Capacity and Service Improvements Program aims to improve service frequency and reliability  along the 76.6-mile long AVL commuter rail corridor between Lancaster and downtown Los Angeles to meet the mobility needs of residents, employees, and visitors throughout the region, including the Antelope and San Fernando Valleys.

The Pico Rivera Rail Station Feasibility Study is exploring ways to improve public transportation and regional rail access. The study will assess the feasibility of adding a new station between the Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs and Commerce Metrolink stations. Metro is working with SCRRA (Metrolink), LOSSAN, CHSRA, BNSF, and Pico Rivera to evaluate the benefits for the community and regional rail.
