Getting started, step by step
After you download the app to your phone, you can create an account (optional). Press “Login or Create Account” to sign up and create an account password.
How to fill out a report about a non-emergency issue
Tell us about what you saw and heard, using each section in the app’s report form.
Details can help us move fast to identify and deal with an issue. Please provide:
WHO and WHAT: Describe the incident and/or person
WHERE: Click on the “Where is the incident” button and the app will display vehicles and stops near your position. You can also manually enter the information by selecting the location type (Bus, Rail, Station, Rapid Busway)
How to include a photo or video with your report
If you were able to take a picture or video, click on the button “Select Attachment” and upload from your Photo Library or choose “Take a Photo.”
Let us follow up with you or choose to submit anonymously
When you submit a report, you will have the option to submit it anonymously or you can provide us your contact information.
We will contact you if there’s a need to follow up for more details that could help us address the issue and to provide updates on the resolution of the report.

Frequently Asked Questions
Security reports are touched within a few minutes of being received. In 2024, our average response time was under a minute.
Some maintenance cases may be more involved than they appear and can take longer to address: power outages from copper theft, vandalized displays or light fixtures, elevator repairs, etc. Maintenance requests are evaluated by a real person and most issues are resolved within 72 hours.
If you are concerned about your safety, or the safety of others, please call 911 in an emergency. You can also call or text Metro security for urgent matters directly within the Transit Watch app, 24 hours a day.
You will need a Transit Watch account, and submit issues with the same email address, to see the status of your reports.
From the Home screen, select the “Menu” icon, then “My Reports.”
You’ll see the list of issues you’ve submitted, the date/time they were submitted, a description and the latest status.
Tap on an issue to see Metro’s response, send a message to Metro, or provide additional details.
You will need a Transit Watch account, and submit issues with the same email address, to receive an update on your report.
If your report has not been updated, please submit a new report or contact Metro through “My Reports” from the Transit Watch menu.
Maintenance issues should be submitted through the “Report & Chat” buttons in the app.
To report a crime in progress, for immediate assistance, or in an emergency, please call 911.
Please call or text Metro security through the Transit Watch app to report safety or security incidents if it’s a safer option than submitting a report.
We are deploying more security officers, ensuring people on the system are there to ride, and addressing untreated mental illness and drug abuse with partner services.

We’ve hired more custodial staff, increased the frequency our buses, trains and stations are cleaned, and successfully launched mobile bathrooms to a growing number of stations.
We can all participate! The Metro Customer Code of Conduct ensures a clean, safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
Metro Homeless Outreach Teams are deployed on Metro buses, trains, and stations to engage with unhoused riders and connect them to resources. The outreach teams are one part of our multilayer plan to improve public safety, combined with a team that includes Metro Ambassadors, security and law enforcement and cleaning crews.
Your report will be routed to the appropriate team depending on whether it’s a security or maintenance incident.
We update each security submission within a few minutes, and most maintenance cases are resolved within 72 hours. Each report is different and evaluated by a real person.

If you want to see a record of your reports, have status updates, or provide additional details that could help us address the issue, an account is required.
A description of the problem, and a description of the location, is helpful to Metro when we address the issues reported through Transit Watch. Sending a video or photo with your report can be helpful to evaluate the severity of the problem and may expedite Metro’s response.
