What to Report in an Emergency​

Urgent Medical Care

  • Someone collapses or is unconscious
  • A person is having a seizure, severe allergic reaction, or difficulty breathing
  • There is a visible injury or significant bleeding

Criminal Activity

  • You witness violence or a physical altercation
  • Someone is displaying a weapon or threatening others
  • Theft, assault or harassment that is escalating or dangerous

Safety Hazards

  • A fire, smoke or explosion
  • A person on the tracks or any behavior that could endanger lives
  • Suspicious packages or items that appear to be a potential threat

Disruptive Behavior

  • Severe disruption that endangers passengers (e.g., someone violently attacking or threatening passengers or the driver)

Accidents or Collisions

  • The bus or train is involved in an accident with injuries
  • A vehicle crash involving public transit

Report a Conduct Violation

It’s important to alert Metro to non-emergency situations that make being on our system feel unsafe or unpleasant.

Disruptive Behavior

  • Someone being disruptive but not violent
  • Minor vandalism or littering
  • Smoking, drugs, alcohol use or other misconduct

Fare Evasion

  • Individuals jumping turnstiles or fare gates
  • Using emergency exits to avoid payment
  • Entering buses without paying

Cleanliness Issues

  • Trash, spills or unsanitary conditions on buses, trains or stations

Other Concerns

  • People experiencing homelessness seeking shelter without posing a threat
  • Maintenance issues like broken equipment
  • Accessibility issues that need attention
