Olympic Bl Bus Priority Lanes Project

Improving how people move across Los Angeles by making bus travel faster and more reliable.

Planning

Metro has a plan to make it easier to get around LA. Bus service is the backbone of the public transit system, which is why the NextGen Bus Plan reimagined the bus system to focus on providing fast, frequent, reliable and accessible service. A key element in implementing this plan is the use of bus priority lanes. A bus priority lane gives buses dedicated space to travel separately from vehicles. These lanes improve bus speeds by up to 15%, allowing buses to run more frequently, increasing reliability. We can enhance mobility by moving more people within existing infrastructure.

Status Update

The Olympic Bl Bus Priority Lanes Project will add bus priority lanes on Olympic Bl, from Robertson Bl to Figueroa St. This project will improve bus service for Metro Line 28.

Enhancements will also be made at 13 bus stop locations, including bus shelters, sidewalk repair, ADA curb ramps, pedestrian lighting, street trees, wayfinding, and bus pads.
