Human Trafficking Awareness
Metro is vigilant in supporting awareness by working to prevent incidences of human trafficking on our system.
What to Look For
Almost one million people, mostly young girls, are trafficked against their will each year in the U.S. Metro supports awareness campaigns to educate the public on how to identify signs of human trafficking in their communities and how to report it.
A young woman may be a victim of trafficking if she:
- Looks fearful or depressed, and is not on her own
- Is being closely watched
- Does not have possession of her paperwork or money
- Shows signs of physical abuse
Human trafficking victims are often transported on buses and trains — that is something that we must all consider and be aware of.
How to Report
If transit riders have any information or suspicious activity to report that they suspect involves human trafficking, please contact Metro Security:

Our Employees are Trained to Report
Metro works closely with its law enforcement agencies to remain vigilant in monitoring for suspicious activities on public transit.
We are committed to addressing human trafficking on transit by training all of our nearly 10,000 employees and law enforcement contractors on how to identify and report human trafficking incidences. Training is mandatory for employees.
