Metro and Caltrans are planning improvements to enhance safety, reduce congestion, and support alternatives to driving. Options being studied include ExpressLanes, HOV lanes, and upgrades for biking, walking, and transit. A Draft Environmental Document will be shared for public review and comment in a future phase.

Why is this project needed?

The I-605 carries over 300,000 vehicles daily and has high congestion and collision rates. Improvements will enhance safety and mobility.

No full residential acquisitions are planned. Designs remain within existing right-of-way where possible.
