As early as 2026

Project Highlights
> Up to 120 new Bike Share stations across Central Los Angeles and the Westside
> Up to 1,200 new bikes (approximately 85% will be pedal-assisted e-bikes)
> Stronger connections to Metro bus and rail lines
> Improved access that supports stronger community connections

Focused Expansion
This project is designed to bring affordable, sustainable transportation options to more neighborhoods. Based on available grant funding, new Bike Share stations will be prioritized in designated Equity Focus Communities (EFCs), shown in the shaded areas on the project map above.

Focused expansion helps ensure that communities with higher numbers of transit riders, seniors, youth and zero-car households benefit directly from new stations.

Community Benefits
The Metro Bike Share expansion supports more equitable access to transportation while promoting healthier, more sustainable travel options. Expanded service will also help support local and small businesses by increasing visibility, access and foot traffic in these neighborhoods.

Here is a list of current efforts to bring more Metro Bikes to you.

Westside-Central Communities
Metro has a plan to make it easier to get around, including filling the gap between Metro Bike Share’s Downtown/Central LA and Westside service areas, including the communities of Mid City, Pico-Union, Westwood, Palms, Rancho Park, Exposition Park, Jefferson Park, University Park and more. This effort will provide continuous service coverage and more connections to Metro bus and rail services, such as the D, E and K Lines.
