The Station Activations Program activates LA Metro stations and properties as community-centered spaces that deliver cultural programming, support local economies, and enhance rider experience. The program operates at the intersection of transit, community engagement, and economic development.
Metro Station Activations (Events) For the D Line
As Metro prepares to open three new D Line stations on May 8, the agency is partnering with nearly a dozen small businesses to transform the rider experience. For the first 90 days of service, stations will host near-daily programming—turning transit spaces into vibrant community destinations. Riders can expect everything from farmers markets and coffee service to salsa dance classes and craft markets. A full list of summer events and activities is included below.
Starting May 9 (every other Saturday): PRO Dance Free Outdoor Salsa Class
o Station: Wilshire/Fairfax
o Event Time: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
An interactive activation turning the station into a live dance floor, inviting the public to engage, learn at the plaza level in Metro stations. Classes require pre-registration but are free.
Starting May 11 and May 12 (Every Monday and Tuesday): Lost in Los Angeles
o Station: Wilshire/La Brea
o Event Time: 8am – 12pm
A recurring retail-focused activation showcasing local entrepreneurs and small businesses, creating consistent opportunities for economic activity and rider engagement.
Starting May 11 (Monday through Friday): Coffee Cart Service
o Station: Wilshire/Fairfax (Ellas Coffee); Wilshire/La Brea (Crenshaw Coffee) – Coming Soon; Wilshire/La Cienega – Coming Soon
o Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 7am – 11am
Enhancing the rider experience during peak commute hours by offering convenient, high-quality beverage options while supporting local coffee vendors.
Starting May 12 (Every Tuesday): Farm Habit Farmers Market
o Station: Wilshire/Fairfax
o Event Time: 3:30pm-7:30pm
A fresh community-centered farmers market activation bringing locally sourced produce and goods to transit riders, encouraging healthy living and neighborhood connection.
Starting May 14 (Monthly on the Second Thursday): PIKL LA
o Station: Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Brea
o Event Time: 3pm – 7:30pm
A high energy activation bringing pickleball to the station and creating an interactive experience that draws riders and activates public space through play, competition, and community engagement. The activation is free to the public and does not require pre-registration.
Starting May 16: A LATINAFest Preview
o Station: Wilshire/Fairfax
o Event Time: 10am – 7pm
A vibrant cultural and culinary activation celebrating Latina-owned businesses through food and music. Latina Fest is bringing energy to the station while highlighting local entrepreneurs and community pride.

May 17: LACMA × Metro Art: Todd Gray’s Histories in the Plural
o Station: Wilshire/Fairfax to Wilshire/La Cienega
o Event Time: 4:00pm- 5:00pm
o Join artist Todd Gray and scholar Dr. Tiffany E. Barber for an exclusive look into Gray’s latest commissions for both LACMA and the new Wilshire/La Cienega Metro Station. This immersive afternoon begins at LACMA at 2:00pm with an insightful artist talk and visit to Gray’s new artwork at LACMA, followed by a guided Metro Art tour, offering a rare opportunity to explore the creative process behind L.A.’s most striking new public artworks. The tour starts at Wilshire/Fairfax (street level) at 4:00pm and travels to Wilshire/La Cienega Station, where the artist will speak about his work.
Starting May 20: Destination Ethiopia

A culturally immersive event celebrating Ethiopian food, music, and small businesses.
Starting June7 (Every First Sunday): Craft Contemporary
o Station: Wilshire/Fairfax
o Event Time: 11am – 1pm
A simple, hands-on basket weaving activity where visitors can slow down, make something with their hands, and enjoy the process together.
June 27 and July 25: California Cultural Festival
o Station: Wilshire/Fairfax
o Event Time: 4pm – 8pm
A calming, community-focused festival centered on mental wellness, featuring guided yoga, meditation, sound baths, and live music.
Metro Station Activations During The World Cup
Metro’s Station Activations program will bring World Cup energy to more than 15 stations, turning everyday transit stops into vibrant, welcoming spaces that connect riders to matches and fan zones.
June 12 – Downtown Inglewood
o Station: Downtown Inglewood (K Line)
o Event Time: 2pm – 6pm
At Downtown Inglewood, Metro is partnering internally to pilot new plaza design elements for future use in the ‘28 Games while adding music and amenities to create an energized pre-game atmosphere for riders.
June 12: City of Pasadena
o Station: Memorial Park and Del Mar Stations (A Line)
o Event Time: 4:30pm – 9:30pm
In Pasadena, Metro is helping guide fans to the city’s Convention Center watch party while adding music, soccer match highlights, and wayfinding support to improve the rider experience along the way.
June 14 – Little Tokyo Community Council Celebration
o Station: Little Tokyo/Arts District Station (A Line)
o Event Time: 12pm – 4pm
At Little Tokyo/Arts District Station, Metro is partnering with the Little Tokyo Community Council to create a lively match-day experience that flows from the platform to a full plaza celebration expected to draw hundreds of attendees.
June 18 – Boyle Heights Chamber of Commerce Celebration
o Station: Mariachi Plaza Station (E Line)
o Event Time: 5:00pm – 10:00pm
At Mariachi Plaza, Metro is working alongside the Boyle Heights Chamber of Commerce to welcome riders with music, match highlights, and wayfinding that connect the station to the nearby community watch party.
June 19 – DTLA Alliance & The Bloc Celebration
o Station: 7th St/Metro Center (A, B, D, E Lines)
o Event Time: 4:00pm – 10:00pm
At 7th Street/Metro Center, Metro is transforming its busiest station into an energetic gateway guiding fans directly to the watch party at The Bloc.
June 20 – 909 Market Celebration
o Station: Pomona North Station (A Line)
o Event Time: 5:00pm – 10:00pm
At Pomona North, Metro is teaming up with 909 Market to deliver a large-scale, World Cup-themed market and watch party expected to draw thousands of attendees.
June 21 – City of Santa Monica Celebration
o Station: Downtown Santa Monica Station (E Line)
o Event Time: 10:00am – 6:00pm
In Santa Monica, Metro is supporting the city’s adjacent event by creating a seamless arrival experience with music, wayfinding, and amenities that welcome riders to the festivities.
June 21 – Original Farmers Market FIFA World Cup Fan Zone
o Station: Wilshire/Fairfax Station (D Line)
o Event Time: 11:00am – 3:00pm
At Wilshire/Fairfax, Metro is partnering with Angel City Football Club and Pikl LA to activate its newest station with interactive games, music, and food as fans head toward the nearby fan zone.
June 24 – Koreatown Celebration
o Station: Wilshire/Western Station (D Line)
o Event Time: 4:30pm – 8:30pm
At Wilshire/Western, Metro is bringing music and match highlights to the mezzanine and plaza to improve the rider experience as they make their way to the City of Los Angeles’ nearby watch party.
June 27 – Ube Fest Soccer Celebration
o Station: Norwalk Station (C Line)
o Event Time: 12:00pm – 8:00pm
At Norwalk Station, Metro is partnering with Ube Fest to create a festival that brings together food, culture, and World Cup viewing in a family-friendly setting, expected to draw thousands of attendees.
June 28 – Leimert Park Celebration
o Station: Leimert Park Station (K Line)
o Event Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm
At Leimert Park, Metro is joining Juneteenth and Open Streets celebrations with music and cultural elements that connect the station to the surrounding community.
July 4 & 5 – Ervin Magic Johnson Park FIFA World Cup Fan Zone
o Station: Avalon and Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Stations (A, C Lines)
o Event Time: 8:30am – 5:00pm (7/4); 11:30am – 8:00pm (7/5)
At Willowbrook/Rosa Parks and Avalon stations, Metro is supporting access to the official fan zone at Magic Johnson Park by welcoming riders with programming and guiding them with clear wayfinding.
July 18 – 11:11 Projects Celebration
o Station: Reseda Station (G Line)
o Event Time: 12:00pm – 8:00pm
At Reseda, Metro is partnering with arts organization 11:11 Projects to turn the G Line station into a creative World Cup hub featuring art, soccer, community programming, and food.
July 19 – City of Long Beach Celebration
o Station: Long Beach Station (A Line)
o Event Time: 11:00am – 5:00pm
In Long Beach, Metro is supporting the city’s Open Streets event by providing wayfinding to help riders arrive and navigate the area.
July 19 – Hollywood/Highland: Ciclavia
o Station: Hollywood/Highland Station
o Event Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm
At Hollywood/Highland, Metro is joining CicLAvia and adding to the festivities with music, soccer highlights, and wayfinding for riders and visitors.
