Carbon Credits

Metro generates carbon credits through the use of low carbon transportation fuels such as electricity and renewable natural gas. Metro conducts periodic solicitations for the sale of these carbon credits including Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) credits and Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs). More information on LCFS and RINs can be found on the California Air Resources Board (“CARB”) LCFS website and Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) Renewable Fuel Standard Program website .

Metro will periodically issue Request for Offers (RFOs) to parties who have expressed interest in purchasing carbon credits from Metro. Please contact the individual listed below in order to receive notifications for current and future solicitations.
