Current construction work consists of the installation of sound walls, installation of temporary access points, tree relocation, utility relocation (storm drain, gas line and sewer capping), flagpole removal and storage, and hauling of spoil materials. The use of heavy equipment throughout the project site may cause intermittent noise.
Tree relocation is scheduled for Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 7:00am to 5:00pm requiring an approved closure of Downlen Avenue, between Hadley Lane and Bonsall Avenue. Preparation activities for the tree relocation work will be performed a few days prior. Weekday work will be performed from 7:00am to 5:00pm. Work will include use of a crane, backhoe, transport trucks, and an excavator. Flaggers will be used as necessary to assist with traffic. A map of the Dowlen Avenue closure is included below.
Shoofly work reconfigures the traffic flow on Bonsall Avenue while support piles are constructed over the street. Public access will be maintained and vehicle traffic will remain as one lane in each direction. The activity is scheduled to begin in late April 2021 and continue for approximately four (4) months.
Dates: April 2021 to September 2021
Work Hours: 7 am to 5 pm
- Traffic control on Bonsall Avenue will be maintained while the work continues.
- A pedestrian detour will be established during the shoofly & tree relocation activities.
- Temporary traffic restrictions may be required while construction personnel and equipment enter and exit the work area.
- Flaggers will be used, as needed, for safe access to vehicles into the site and pedestrians on the street.
