Pedestrian bridge construction at Hope St

Summary

Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will conduct two 55-hour weekend closures of Hope St between GTK Way and 2nd St for construction of a pedestrian bridge.

 

Work will begin as early as Friday, January 15, 2021. A second weekend closure will take place on Friday, January 29, 2021. Anticipated work hours are 7 pm Friday to 5 am Monday.

 

Starting as early as January 18, 2020, a curb lane closure will be in place on Hope St between GTK Way and 2nd St. Thru traffic will be maintained. Pedestrian bridge construction is anticipated continue for approximately three months.

  

Additional work may be scheduled at a later date. A supplemental notice will be issued once work is scheduled.

 

Essentials

Activities will include set up for traffic, moving of k-rail, surveying of existing utilities, and setting falsework within the closure.

 

Pedestrian access will be maintained outside of the work area. Closure of the east sidewalk at Hope St between GTK Way and 2nd St. Detour: use the alternate route signage. 

  • Eastbound: take 3rd St, left on Grand Av, left on 2nd St, back to Hope St.
  • Westbound: take 2nd St, right on Grand Av, right on 3rd St, back to Hope St.

 

What to Expect

Access to adjacent businesses will be maintained at all times.

 

Hope St:

55-hour weekend closure between GTK Way and 2nd St.

 

A lane reduction will be in place between 3rd St and GTK Way.

 

Detours:

Northbound (NB): right on GTK Way, left on Olive St, left on 1st St, right back onto Hope St.
