Wilshire Blvd./Detroit St. Paving

Summary

From Thursday, April 6 to Friday, April 7, there will be paving and street restoration at Wilshire/Detroit that will require a full closure on the north side of Detroit St. at Wilshire Blvd. This work will require the following traffic control measures and work hours:

Thursday, April 6: 7am–4pm

  • Detroit St. closed north of Wilshire Blvd. up to Carling Way alley.
  • Turn movements from Wilshire Blvd. to northbound Detroit St. restricted.
  • Right turn only from the Carling Way alley. Access to Detroit St. will be made available from Carling Way and 6th St. with flagger assistance. 
  • Crosswalk closure at north leg of Wilshire Blvd./Detroit St. as needed. Flagger support as needed.
  • Detroit St. northbound will open after 4pm. 

Friday, April 7: 7am–4pm

  • Detroit St. closed north of Wilshire Blvd. up to Carling Way alley.
  • Turn movements from Wilshire Blvd. to northbound Detroit restricted.
  • Right turn only from the Carling Way alley. Access to Detroit St. will be made available from Carling Way and 6th St. with flagger assistance. 
  • Crosswalk closure at north leg of Wilshire/Detroit as needed. Flagger support as needed.

Noteworthy

  • Construction within project staging yards is 24-hours/day. 
  • All work has received necessary permits and approvals.
  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of the construction zone.
  • Access for emergency responders will be maintained.

Metro bus stops for 720/20 have been relocated to Wilshire Blvd./Stanley Ave. and Wilshire Blvd./La Jolla Ave. Metro buses will post stop relocations and announce relocations and detours to riders.
