Southern California Edison Cable Pulling on Wilshire Blvd. and Federal Ave.

As part of the Federal government’s Coronavirus Guidance for America, transportation infrastructure is considered an “Essential Critical Infrastructure”. Additionally, transit capital projects are not subject to the State of California’s Stay at Home order, therefore Metro construction projects continue to progress.

Metro has been coordinating with Southern California Edison (SCE) to upgrade the electrical system along Wilshire Blvd. and Federal Ave. to provide the power necessary for construction and tunneling activities. This upgrade will also provide power for the operations of the future Westwood/VA Hospital Station. From Monday, May 11 to Monday, May 18, SCE will pull electrical cable along Wilshire Blvd. and Federal Ave., from 10pm to 5am.

Per the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), there will be relaxed parking enforcement for street sweeping, however, parking restrictions in construction zones will still be enforced.
