Well-Monitoring in Westwood

As part of the State, County, and applicable City orders specific to the COVID-19 response, Metro construction activities are currently included as “Essential” activities. Therefore, construction activities are continuing as permitted by the local jurisdiction.


Metro contractors will begin conducting well-monitoring along the tunnel alignment of the Purple Line Extension Section 3 on Wilshire Blvd. from Saturday, April 18 through Sunday, Sunday 19 from 8pm to 6am.


Date: April 18 to 19

Work Hours: 8pm to 6am

  • Intermittent lane reductions on Wilshire Blvd. between Malcolm Ave. and Gayley Ave.
  • Intermittent lane reductions on Wilshire Blvd. between Manning Ave. and Selby Ave.
  • Driveway access will be maintained.

Metro Access

During construction, some Metro bus line could be affected and some bus stops might be relocated.

What to Expect

  • All work has received necessary permits and approvals.
  • Access to driveways, homes & businesses will be maintained at all times unless notified in advance.
  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of construction zones.
  • Access for the Fire Department and emergency responders will be maintained.
  • Temporary lane closures will be required; detours with signage will be implemented.
  • Parking restrictions will be implemented in the immediate area of the work zone.
  • Temporary bus stops with relocation signage will be implemented.
