Utility Relocation on Federal Ave., Ohio Ave., and Purdue Ave.


Metro is coordinating with Southern California Edison (SCE) to upgrade the electrical system along Federal Ave., Ohio Ave., and Purdue Ave. to provide the power necessary for construction and tunneling activities. This upgrade will also provide power for the operations of the future Westwood/VA Hospital Station. Work will begin on Tuesday, February 11 and will be done in stages for the next several weeks, from 9am to 3:30pm.


Work on Purdue Ave. and Ohio Ave.

Date: February 11 through 28

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 3:30pm

  • Intermittent lane reductions on Ohio Ave. between Corinth Ave. and Butler Ave.
  • Temporary street closure of Purdue Ave. at Ohio Ave.
  • Northbound traffic on Purdue Ave. from Santa Monica Blvd. will be restricted.
  • Southbound traffic on Purdue Ave. from Ohio Ave. will be restricted.
  • Driveway access will be maintained.
  • Parking will be restricted in the work zones.
  • Utility service will be maintained.

Work on Federal Ave. north of Texas Ave.

Date: February 13 through 28

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 3:30pm

  • Intermittent lane reductions on Federal Ave. between Texas Ave. and Wilshire Blvd.
  • Local access for residents will be maintained.
  • Parking will be restricted in the work zones.
  • Utility service will be maintained.


  • All work has received necessary permits and approvals.
  • Access to driveways, residences & businesses will be maintained at all times unless notified in advance.
  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of construction zones.
  • Access for the Fire Department and emergency responders will be maintained.
  • Parking restrictions will be implemented in the immediate area of the work zone.
