Update: Seismic Boring Study on Wilshire Blvd.

During this month (May), the Purple Line Extension Subway Project, Section 2 will begin a seismic boring study in the City of Beverly Hills. The seismic boring study is being conducted to determine the limits of the fault line within the tunneling path. The borings will identify the subsurface conditions, including fault characteristics relative to the proposed Metro tunnels, and provide vital information for the design of the project. Lane reductions on Wilshire Blvd. will be required for this work. Below is the scheduled seismic boring worksite and traffic plan for Site 5.
