Westbound Wilshire Blvd. Closure at Western Ave.


Beginning Monday, July 29, and continuing through Monday, August 5, westbound Wilshire Blvd. will be closed to all traffic at Western Ave, from midnight to 6am. This closure supports the removal and relocation of the tunnel boring machine from the Western staging yard to the North La Brea Yard.

The following traffic controls will be in place, pending approval from the City of Los Angeles:

  • Westbound Wilshire Blvd. will be closed between Western Ave. and Manhattan Pl. from midnight to 6am.
  • Through movements along northbound and southbound Western Ave. will be unaffected.
  • Local traffic along Wilshire Blvd. west of Manhattan Pl. will be maintained.
  • Westbound bus stops will be detoured with other traffic.
  • All westbound traffic will be detoured through the following route: Westbound Wilshire Blvd. to southbound Western Ave., to westbound Olympic Blvd., to northbound La Brea Ave.

  • Construction within project staging yards is 24-hours/day. 
  • All work has received necessary permits and approvals.
  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of the construction zone.
  • Access for emergency responders will be maintained.
