Westbound Wilshire Blvd. Closure at Western Ave.

Summary

Beginning Monday, July 8, and continuing through Monday, July 15, westbound Wilshire Blvd. will close to all traffic at Western Ave. from midnight to 6am. This closure supports the relocation of the first tunnel boring machine from the Western staging yard to the Wilshire/La Brea Station. 

The following traffic controls will be in place, pending approval from the City of Los Angeles:

  • Westbound Wilshire Blvd. will be closed between Western Ave. and Manhattan Pl. from midnight to 6am.
  • Through movements along northbound and southbound Western Ave. will be unaffected.
  • Local traffic along Wilshire Blvd. west of Manhattan Pl. will be maintained.
  • Westbound bus stops will be detoured with all traffic.
  • All westbound traffic will be detoured through the following route: westbound Wilshire Blvd. to southbound Western Ave., to westbound Olympic Blvd., to northbound La Brea Ave. to westbound Wilshire Blvd.

  • Construction within project staging yards is 24-hours/day. 
  • All work has received necessary permits and approvals.
  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of the construction zone.
