Extended Work Hours at Wilshire/Western Yard: Summer 2019

Beginning mid-June 2019, work hours at the Wilshire/Western Staging Yard are expected to increase as tunneling operations turn west towards Wilshire/La Cienega Station. This work will include:

  • Phase 1: Removal of two tunnel boring machines from the Wilshire/Western Staging Yard. This is anticipated for July/August 2019 for several weeks. Work will require 24-hour use of the yard, ventilation, haul trucks, and movement of equipment within the yard.
  • Phase 2: Tunnel support, including the delivery of tunnel segments. This is anticipated in September 2019 for 4-8 weeks. This work requires 24-hour use of the yard, ventilation, haul trucks, and movement of yard equipment.
  • Phase 3: Cross passage excavation commences after initial tunnel support is completed, for an anticipated 9 months. This work requires 24-hour use of the yard, ventilation, haul trucks, and moving yard equipment.
