Santa Monica Blvd. Temporary Lane Reductions through Mid-October

As part of the Federal government’s Coronavirus Guidance for America, transportation infrastructure is considered an “Essential Critical Infrastructure.” Additionally, transit capital projects are not subject to the State of California’s Stay at Home order, therefore Metro construction projects continue to progress.

Summary

The construction contractor will install landscaping on the north side of Santa Monica Blvd. beginning on Tuesday, October 6. This work will require temporary lane reductions on Santa Monica Blvd. between Century Park West and Moreno Dr. for an estimated two weeks.

  • Work hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 3:30pm

ACCESS

  • Traffic on westbound and eastbound Santa Monica Blvd. will remain accessible.
  • Sidewalks will remain accessible.
  • U-turns at eastbound Santa Monica Blvd. onto westbound Santa Monica Blvd. at Century Park East will be intermittently restricted.

Noteworthy

  • All work has received necessary permits and approvals.
  • Access to driveways, residences & businesses will be maintained at all times unless notified in advance.
  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of construction zones.
  • Access for the Fire Department and emergency responders will be maintained.
  • Parking restrictions will be implemented in the immediate area of the work zone.
