As part of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, Metro’s contractor, Walsh-Shea Corridor Constructors (WSCC) will continue working on civil improvements in Park Mesa. The civil work includes water meter relocation, demolition of existing sidewalk, frontage road curb and gutter reconstruction, ADA ramps, street lighting, traffic signals, driveway and sidewalk reconstruction. The work will continue to be conducted in segments and phases.
This phase will last 21 days and it will include a closure of the frontage road to allow for these civil improvements. Following the full closure, the frontage road will be reopened to pedestrians, vehicular traffic and parking.
Frontage road will remain closed for the duration of 21 days. Specific daily work hours are listed in the essentials section.
WHAT: Civil Work Improvements
WHEN: October 17, 2016 – November 7, 2016. Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 7am to 5pm, weather permitting.
WHERE: Southbound Crenshaw Bl between 48th St and Westmount Av
DURATION: 21 Days
What to Expect:
- Intermittent sidewalk closures will be implemented and fully reopened at the end of each shift.
- Pedestrians will be rerouted to an area outside of construction.
- Frontage road vehicular access will be restricted during the length of this operation.
- Access to one southbound lane will be restricted.
