Utility investigation activities on Flower St and 7th St


Wednesday, February 13: Additional daytime hours scheduled for potholing, Monday and Tuesday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, weather permitting.

Thursday, February 7: Additional weekend work scheduled for February 9th, plus weeknight hours, lane reductions and traffic detours.


Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will begin utility investigation in order to install a future train-way power duct bank on Flower St between 6th St and 7th St.

Potholing will continue along 7th St between Flower St and Figueroa St.

Work will take place on Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 7 am to 3:30 pm, weather permitting. Following this, night work will begin, occurring Monday through Friday, from 7 pm to 5 am, for approximately two weeks. 

On Saturday, February 9th, expect alternating lane reductions of eastbound and westbound 7th St, between Flower St and Figueroa, along with westbound 7th St traffic detoured onto northbound Figueroa.

During night work, expect lane reductions on westbound 7th St between Hope St and Figueroa.


Pedestrian access and access to all adjacent businesses will be maintained at all times. Please use the alternate crosswalks outside the work zone.

Activities include: mobilizing equipment, saw cutting, grinding, removing asphalt, excavating, and setting up traffic plates.

  • Lane reduction on westbound 7th St between Figueroa St and Hope St.
