Utility investigation activities at 6th/Flower St

Friday, June 29: Utility investigation work now scheduled, through July 31, 2018, weather permitting.


Summary

Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will resume utility investigation activities at 6th St and Flower St to survey existing underground utilities.

Work is anticipated to begin Monday, April 30, and continue through June 11. Anticipated work hours, weather permitting, are 9 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and 8 am to 6 pm, on Saturdays.

Lane reductions will be in place on Flower St and 6th St.

Essentials

Activities include saw cutting, grinding, pavement removal, excavation, use of vacuum trick, backfilling, and paving.

Pedestrian access will be maintained outside of the work zone. Driveway access will be maintained at all times.

What to Expect

  • Lane reductions will be in place on Flower St between 5th St and Wilshire Bl and on 6th St between Figueroa and Flower St.
  • A single right turn lane from eastbound 6th St onto southbound Flower St will be restricted intermittently. Please use 4th St as an alternate route.
  • Pedestrian access in front of Charles Dunn will be restricted during work hours; pedestrians will be re-routed to the east side of Flower St.
