Construction Activities at the 2nd/Hope Station Yard

Summary

Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will continue to perform construction and maintenance activities at the 2nd/Hope Station Yard to support ongoing tunneling operation efforts.

Work is anticipated to resume Friday, August 4, 2017 and will continue through January 2019.

Anticipated work hours, weather permitting, are as follows:

Construction activities

  • 6 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday

Maintenance activities

  • 5 am to 3 pm, Monday through Saturday
  • 3 pm to 5 am, Monday through Saturday, as needed
  • Sundays shifts will be scheduled as needed

Essentials

Construction activities include: hauling and storing of dirt within yard, delivery and installation of rebar, placement of concrete for walls and slabs, thrust block demolition and yard clean-up.

Maintenance activities include: equipment assembly/disassembly, housekeeping, steel rail installation, crane and locomotive operations, and tunnel segment assembly.

What to Expect

Work will take place within the 2nd/Hope Station Yard. No additional traffic closures will be in place. Concrete placement for walls and slabs will be intermittently scheduled. Placement will take place at 6 a.m.
