6th St Closure Pick-up and Traffic Reconfiguration


RCC will begin modifying traffic lanes in preparation for the 6th St closure removal between Figueroa St and Hope St, and the southbound I-110 off-ramp.

Restriping will take place on Friday, November 17, from 7 am to 7 pm and Saturday, November 18, from 6 am to 9 pm.

Activities include lane striping and signal modifications, removing of k-rail, sound walls and traffic signage.


Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Access to driveways will be maintained during work hours.

Eastbound 6th St thru traffic will be detoured to southbound Bixel St to eastbound 7th St. to Olive St back to 6th St.

What to Expect

The following will be restricted intermittently during traffic implementation:

Friday, November 17

  • Eastbound 6th St lane reductions from Witmner St to Figueroa St.
  • Southbound/Northbound I-110 off-ramps at 6th St. 

Saturday, November 18, 2017

6th St

  • Southbound/Northbound I-110 off-ramps at 6th St. 
  • 6th St from Figueroa St to Hope St.
  • Local access only from Figueroa St to Lebanon St. 

Flower St

  • Lane reductions from 4th St to Wilshire Bl. 
  • Thru traffic maintained for local access.
  • For City National Plaza use parking entrance on 5th St and exit on 6th St.

Hope St

  • Lane reductions between 6th St and Wilshire Bl, thru traffic maintained.

Wilshire Bl:

  • Eastbound lane reductions from Lebanon St to Grand Av.
