Friday, September 15: Information on sidewalk closures and detours has been updated.
RCC will continue DWP Power utility relocation and construction activities on 6th St between Figueroa St and Flower St.
Weekend closures are anticipated to begin Friday, September 15, and will be in place weekends (except on holidays) from 9 pm Fridays to 5 am Mondays for approximately 12 weekends.
This activity will require a full closure on 6th St between Figueroa St and Flower St.
Activities include: sawcutting, pavement removal, excavation, installing DWP power vault, utility investigation, pile installation, backfilling and paving.
Crosswalks at the 6th St/Flower St intersection may be restricted during work hours, but only one at a time.
Pedestrian sidewalk will be restricted intermittently on the west side of Flower St between 6th St and Wilshire Bl. Use the east side sidewalk as alternate route.
What to Expect
A full closure of southbound Flower St from 5th St to Wilshire Bl will be in place.
Right turns from northbound Figueroa St to eastbound 6th St will be maintained for local access only to Lebanon Street. Lebanon Street will remain open at all times
- Flower St traffic detour to Grand Av at 1st St, to Wilshire Bl, back to Flower St.
- Southbound I-110 traffic detour to 4th St off-ramp, to Grand Av, to Wilshire Bl, back to Flower St.
- Northbound I-110 off-ramp traffic detour onto eastbound 9th St off-ramp, to Hope St, to 7th St, back to Flower St.
- Eastbound 6th St traffic detour to southbound Bixel St, to eastbound Wilshire Bl, back to Flower St.
