Construction Activities at the 1st/Central & Mangrove Yards

Summary

Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will continue to perform construction and maintenance activities to support ongoing tunneling operation efforts at the following locations:

  • 1st/Central Station Yard
  • Mangrove Yard, located at the northeast corner of the 1st/Alameda intersection

Work is anticipated to continue Wednesday, August 30, 2017, and last through January 2019.

Anticipated work hours:

24 hours a day, Monday through Saturday, under the following shifts:

  • 6 am to 3 pm
  • 3 pm to midnight
  • Midnight to 7 am, as needed
  • Sunday shifts will be scheduled as needed

Essentials

Activities include: equipment assembly/disassembly, housekeeping, steel rail installation, crane and locomotive operations, and tunnel segment assembly. Dirt hauling from the 1st St leg of the haul route ongoing during excavation. Work hours for hauling are 9 am to 2:30 pm.

What to Expect

Work will take place within the Mangrove Yard. No additional traffic closures will be in place.
