Construction Activities at the 2nd/Hope Station Yard

Summary

Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will continue to perform construction and maintenance activities at the 2nd/Hope Station Yard to support ongoing tunneling operation efforts.

Work is anticipated to resume Friday, August 4, and will continue for approximately five months.

Anticipated work hours are as follows:

Construction activities

  • 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday

Maintenance activities

  • 5 am to 3 pm, Monday through Saturday
  • 3 pm to 5 am, Monday through Saturday, as needed
  • Sundays shifts will be scheduled as needed

Essentials

Construction activities include: installation of tunnel eye, delivery and installation of rebar, placement of concrete for walls and slabs, thrust block demolition and yard clean-up.

Maintenance activities include: equipment assembly/disassembly, housekeeping, steel rail installation, crane and locomotive operations, and tunnel segment assembly.

What to Expect

Work will take place within the 2nd/Hope Station Yard. No additional traffic closures will be in place. Concrete placement for walls and slabs will be intermittently scheduled. Placement will take place at 6 a.m.
