Water Line Tie-in on Flower St. between 5th St. and 6th St.

Summary

Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) has completed installation of a new 24-inch water line on Flower St. between 5th St. and 6th St. RCC will be conducting a series of tie-ins to connect the existing system to the new water line.

Work is anticipated to begin Sunday, April 23, 2017 for three weeks. Anticipated work hours for the first tie-in will be from 10 am, Sunday to 4 am, Monday.

Activities will include: dewatering, cutting and removing existing pipe, tie-in install, welding and backfill.

Essentials

Louder activities such as cutting and removing existing pipe will be for a 2-3 hour duration at the beginning of the shift. These activities will be completed during daytime hours. Sound blankets will be in place.

Pedestrian access will be maintained outside of the work area.

What to Expect

Thru traffic will be maintained at all times.

Flower St.

  • Lane reductions on southbound Flower St. between 5th St. and 6th St.
  • Right turns from southbound Flower to westbound 5th St will be restricted. 

5th St.

  • Lane reductions on westbound 5th St. between Flower St. and Figueroa St. 

6th St.

  • Lane reduction on eastbound 6th St. between Figueroa St. and Flower St. 
  • Right turns from 6th St to southbound Flower St will be maintained.

This work will be coordinated with other activities in the corridor.
