In preparation for the construction activities at the future 2nd/Hope and Flower St. Cut and Cover station sites, the Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will be removing a total of 10 trees along westbound Wilshire Blvd. between Flower St. and Hope St. and southbound Hope St. between 1st St. and 3rd St.
Work is anticipated to begin on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 and continue for one week. Anticipated work hours are from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Access to businesses and driveways will be maintained at all times. Pedestrian access will be available outside of the work area.
The Board of Public Works approved the tree removal permit. City of Los Angeles tree removal permits require a minimum of 2:1 tree replacement ratio. Trees will be planted at the end of construction near the area of removal, based on City requirements.
What to Expect
Flower St detour
Lane reductions will be in place on southbound Flower St. from 1st St. to 3rd St. Pedestrian access on southbound Flower St. from 1st St to 3rd St will be available with the use of flaggers during work hours.
Wilshire Blvd detour
Lane reductions on Wilshire Blvd. will be in place between Hope St. to 150’ ft. west of Flower St. Temporary sidewalk closures will occur at the north sidewalk of Wilshire Blvd. between Figueroa St. and Flower St.
