Metro Center St Project: Abatement and Demolition of Structures, Arts District


Beginning Monday, July 22nd and continuing through Fall 2019, Metro Contractors will be conducting abatement and demolition activities at 410 Center St located in the Arts District. This work is in preparation for construction of a Metro operations center anticipated to begin early 2020.
Work will consist of abatement of non-recyclable materials, building demolition, construction fence installation, soil excavation, and hauling spoil material to dump sites.


  • Work is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2019.
  • Thru traffic on Center St will be maintained.
  • Street parking restrictions will be in place on Ducommun St, east of Center St.
  • During demolition activities, intermittent sidewalk restrictions will be in place on the east side of Center St between Ducommun St and Jackson St. Flaggers will be in place to protect and redirect pedestrians outside of the work zone.

When: Work begins July 22, 2019 and will continue through Fall 2019.

Hours of Construction: Monday through Friday, from 7am to 4pm
