Rail Crossing Replacement on Long Beach Bl between 27th St and Willow St

Summary 

As part of work on Metro’s New Blue Improvements Project, Metro’s contractor, RailWorks, will replace concrete railroad crossings and temporarily close the intersection along the Blue Line in Long Beach at:

  • 27th St at Long Beach Bl
  • Willow Street at Long Beach Bl 

This activity is anticipated to begin on Friday, March 29th at 7pm (weather permitting) and last until Monday, April 1st 2019 at 5am at these locations. 

These intersections are anticipated to be closed for the entirety of the work activity. 

Essentials 

  • There will be a weekend long closure of the intersections of Willow Street and 27th Street at Long Beach Bl.
  • Access will be maintained for those traveling northbound and southbound along Long Beach Bl, however vehicles will not be able to make eastbound or westbound turns across the tracks at Willow Street or 27th Street. 

What to Expect 

Construction activities will involve the use of heavy equipment and small tools, in addition to placement of large panels, and will have potential to create noise.

Construction is a dynamic process and information is subject to change. Work activity is subject to weather conditions.
