As part of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, Metro’s contractor, Walsh-Shea Corridor Constructors (WSCC) will continue working on civil improvements in Park Mesa. The civil work includes frontage road curb and gutter reconstruction, ADA ramps, street lighting, traffic signals, driveway and sidewalk reconstruction. The work will continue to be conducted in segments and phases.
The next phase includes frequent frontage road closures and a northbound lane and southbound lane on Crenshaw Bl, adjacent to the activity, to facilitate civil improvements over a four week duration. The frontage roads will be reopened to pedestrians, vehicular traffic and parking daily after work hours.
WHAT: Civil Work Improvements
WHEN: December 23, 2016 through January 21, 2017, 6am to 5pm Monday through Sunday, excluding Holidays and weather permitting.
WHERE: Northbound and southbound Crenshaw Bl between 54th St and 48th St
DURATION: Four weeks
WHAT TO EXPECT
- The northbound and southbound lanes on Crenshaw Bl closest to the sidewalk will be closed adjacent to the activity.
- Sidewalks in this area will be closed intermittently and pedestrians will be redirected to the opposite side of the street.
- Vehicle access to the frontage road will be restricted block to block depending on the activity.
- Access to emergency responders will be maintained.
