Summary
Walsh-Shea Corridor Constructors will be treating the soil (chemical grouting) on Crenshaw Bl between MLK Bl and Stocker St. Chemical grouting is a soil treatment that changes grainy soils into sandstone-like masses. Chemical grouting is used to stabilize soil around stations and to reduce soil movement under structures close to the tunnel.
This work will require nightly full street closures on Crenshaw Bl for one week. In order to not disrupt holiday shopping, nightly closures will begin after most stores have closed, including Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.
The following detours will be implemented during the closure.
Crenshaw Bl Northbound Detour:
- East onto Vernon Av
- North onto Western Av
- West onto MLK Bl
- North onto Crenshaw Bl
Crenshaw Bl Southbound Detour:
