Traction Power Substation Conduit Installation

Summary

As part of Metro’s Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, Walsh-Shea Corridor
Constructors (WSCC) will be working on the installation of conduit power feed for
the traction power substation (TPSS) building at Aviation Bl between Imperial Hwy
and 117th St. This work will be completed in five phases and last approximately five
weeks.

WHAT: Traction power substation conduit installation
WHEN: Monday, August 27, 2018. 9am through 3:30pm. Monday through Friday.
Weather permitting.
WHERE: Aviation Bl between Imperial Hwy and 117th St
DURATION: Five weeks

What To Expect

Phase 1
- One northbound lane reduction on Aviation Bl between 118th St and 117th St
- Full closure of 117th St at Aviation Bl

Phase 2
- One northbound and southbound lane reduction on Aviation Bl between 120th
St and 117th while median work is performed
- 117th St and Aviation Bl intersection closure
- Left turns will be restricted from Aviation Bl onto 117th St

Phase 3
- One northbound and southbound lane reduction on Aviation Bl between
Imperial Hwy and 117th St while median work is performed
- 116th St and Aviation Bl intersection closure

Phase 4
- One southbound lane reduction on Aviation Bl between Imperial Hwy and
116th St
- One Westbound left turn pocket reduction from Imperial Hwy onto
Southbound Aviation Bl

Phase 5 (Reference attached permit LA672)
- Two southbound lane reductions on Aviation Bl between Imperial Hwy and
116th St. Southbound traffic will be maintained.
- One Westbound left turn pocket reduction from Imperial Hwy onto
Southbound Aviation Bl

Access to emergency responders will be maintained.
