The Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will continue construction on a train communications line on Flower St and 7th St, to tie the Regional Connector Transit Project to the existing station at 7th/Metro Center.
Work is anticipated to begin as early as Tuesday, February 2, 2021, and continue for approximately two months.
Anticipated work hours, weather permitting, are 6am to 3:30pm and 7pm to 5am, Monday through Friday. Additional work may be scheduled at a later date. A supplemental notice will be issued once work is scheduled.
Thru traffic, although maintained, will be reduced during work hours on:
- Southbound (SB) Flower St, between 5th St and 7th St
- WB 7th St, between Hope St and Figueroa
- SB Figueroa between 6th St and 7th St
- EB 6th St, between Figueroa and Flower St
Construction equipment will be staged and demobilized from the site daily. This work is being coordinated with other relocation activities in the area to minimize impacts to the community.
What to Expect
Activities include setting up traffic control, asphalt saw-cutting, excavating, installing conduits, backfilling, grinding, hauling material and supplies. Access to pedestrians will be maintained outside of the work area.
