Q: How long does it take for the LIFE subsidy to be activated after I have enrolled?

A: The LIFE database takes 24 hours after you have enrolled to activate the discount in the system.

Q: How can I find the nearest TAP vendor?

A: You can look up local TAP vendors using your zip code or city at or by calling 1.866.827.8646.

Q: What are the pass options each month and when do they become available?

A: You can load one of the following LIFE options any time during the month (you may load a different option each month):

Regular 30-day/Monthly Pass



Regular 7day/Weekly (up to 4/month)



Senior/Disabled 30-day/Monthly Pass

Q: Can unused rides from 20-ride option be rolled over to the following month?

A: Yes, unused rides may be rolled over to the following month. But the TAP card is limited to 8 of the same products (20-ride option is considered a product) including the one currently in use.

Q: May I apply LIFE subsidies to more than one TAP card?

A: No, LIFE subsidies can only be applied to one card per patron. Each family member of a household must have their own TAP card.

Q: Can I load my LIFE subsidy at a TAP vending machine (TVM)?

A: No, LIFE subsidies are not recognized on a TAP vending machine (TVM).

Q: If I have reduced fare TAP card (Senior/Disabled, College/Vocational and Student K-12), am I also eligible to receive LIFE subsidies?

A: Yes, you must enroll in LIFE using your permanent Reduced Fare TAP card to receive the discount.

Q: Which transit agencies accept LIFE subsidies for their fares?

A: Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA), Big Blue Bus, Culver City Bus, Foothill Transit, GTrans, LADOT, Long Beach Transit, Montebello Bus Lines, Norwalk Transit, Pasadena Transit, Santa Clarita Transit and Torrance Transit.
