In June 2019 Metro’s Board of Directors approved the Development Guidelines . The Guidelines define a vision for long-term development of the site and provide additional specific requirements and objectives such as building height, density, pedestrian circulations, public art, ground floor uses and more. The Guidelines will be utilized to solicit interest from developers and will be the basis for Metro to evaluate and ultimately select the best suited project. A Request for Interest and Qualification (RFIQ) will be released in the Fall of 2019.
In anticipation of the release of the RFIQ, Metro held “Building Partnerships,” an event aimed at encouraging networking and formation of teams among large and small developers, architects, engineers, and other design professionals along with local small businesses and community based organizations. The event was attended by more than 50 individuals representing a wide variety of interests and professions. The event included a catered network session prior to a presentation , which provided an overview of the site and the Development Guidelines.
