Complete Streets in LA County
Complete Streets describes a comprehensive, integrated transportation network with infrastructure and design that allows safe and convenient travel along and across streets for all users, including pedestrians, public transit riders and operators, bicyclists, persons with disabilities, seniors, children, motorists, users of green modes*, and movers of commercial goods.
Streets that are built for all users have multiple benefits, including increased safety, improved air quality through the reduction of auto traffic, improved public health by providing more opportunities for physical activity, greater cost savings, and increased travel choices. Over 700 jurisdictions throughout the United States have adopted Complete Streets policies.
