- Caltrans Highway Projects (District 7)
Over the next five years, Caltrans is improving northern and southern segments along the I-5. The I-5 North Corridor Improvements project covers the area between the Ventura Freeway (SR-134) and the Kern County line. The I-5 South Corridor Improvements covers the area between the Orange County line and the San Gabriel River Freeway (I-605).

- High Desert Corridor
The High Desert Corridor (HDC) project proposes the construction of a brand new, approximately 63-mile, east-west freeway/expressway linking State Route (SR)-14 in Los Angeles County with SR-18 in San Bernardino County.
- HOV (Carpool) Lanes
For nearly 30 years, freeway High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes have been developed in Los Angeles County as an incentive to encourage people to carpool, vanpool or ride the bus.
- I-105 ExpressLanes Project
Metro and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) are preparing engineering studies and an Environmental Document to study the possible implementation of ExpressLanes along I-105 between I-405 and I-605.
- I-5 Improvements in North County
Metro is exploring options to relieve congestion in the North County of Los Angeles in a multi-phase project named the I-5 North Capacity Enhancements. Adding new lanes, such as truck and/or carpool lanes are current measures being explored in this project.
- I-605 Corridor Hot Spots Program
Metro has completed a Feasibility Study which analyzed improvement alternatives for congestion hot spots along the SR-91, I-605, and I-405 corridors.
- I-710 Corridor Project
The Long Beach Freeway (I-710) is a vital transportation artery for both commuter and goods movement linking the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles to points throughout Southern California and beyond.
- I-710 Soundwall Project
Metro identified five miles of new soundwalls along I-710, plus an additional seven miles of existing walls that can be aesthetically treated to match the new walls.
- Metro ExpressLanes
Metro, CalTrans and their mobility partners are working together to develop ExpressLanes and test innovations to improve traffic flow and provide better travel options on the busy I-10 and I-110 Freeways.

Southern California's freeway system was once the envy of the nation, an endless drive through beautiful trees and plantings. But now LA's freeways are really showing their age.
- Northwest 138 Corridor
Situated in the Antelope Valley in the northwest corner of Los Angeles County, State Route 138 (SR-138) extends 36 miles from Interstate 5 (I-5) to State Route 14 (SR-14). Metro and Caltrans have initiated a new environmental study to evaluate the corridor alternatives.
- Soundwall Program
With the passage of SB-45, the California Street and Highway Code was amended to transfer the programming and funding responsibilities of the Post-1989 Soundwall Retrofit Program to regional transportation planning agencies.
- SR-57/SR-60 Interchange Improvements Project
This project is in the Plan, Specification and Estimate phase, which includes final design updates and Environmental Revalidation, and is anticipated to end in late summer 2021. As part of this process, a PS&E report will be developed to account for refinements to elements of the SR-57/SR-60 Confluence Project FEIR, to quantify the cost implications for the current updates, and to guide construction for improvements.

- State Route 2
SR-2 was originally planned and constructed in 1959 to connect with the Hollywood Freeway (US 101) through the neighborhoods of Silver Lake and Echo Park.
