Project Background

2012: Metro completed the Antelope Valley Line Infrastructure Strategic Plan to determine what improvements could be made to the existing line to significantly reduce the travel time between Lancaster/Palmdale and Los Angeles, as well as to enhance safety.

2017-2019: Metro conducted the Antelope Valley Line Feasibility Study which examined increasing the frequency of Metrolink service and developed a phased and prioritized approach for capital improvements based on benefits, costs and impacts.

Current Status

Fall 2020: Metro anticipates initiating and preparing a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Antelope Valley Line Capacity and Service Improvements Program pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
