Metro to hold Streetscape Design Workshop for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority invites the public to a streetscape design workshop for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Light Rail Project to be held Wednesday, June 30.

The workshop, scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., will focus on the segment of the corridor between Exposition Boulevard and 39th Street. The public will have the opportunity to share ideas and thoughts about streetscape, landscape and urban design concepts for this section of Crenshaw Boulevard.

The light rail alternative for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor will be 8.5 miles in length from the Metro Green Line Aviation Station to the Expo Line, now under construction, at Crenshaw and Exposition boulevards, with a travel time estimated at 20 minutes.

Funding for this project will come from Measure R, the half-cent sales tax initiative approved by Los Angeles County voters November 2008 to improve the region’s mobility and create the transportation infrastructure needed to help resolve local traffic congestion, air pollution and enhance economic development.
