First Measure M transit project gets green light

 

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Board today approved a $1.4-billion budget and partnership agreements to extend the Metro Gold Line in the San Gabriel Valley another 11.5 miles east to Claremont.

After 27 years of service on the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (Metro) Blue Line, the original rail cars — the Nippon Sharyo P865s — are being replaced with the new Kinkisharyo P3010 cars to enhance passenger service and improve vehicle reliability and maintainability.

The Metro Blue Line says “Hello/Goodbye” to New/Old Rail Cars

After 27 years of service on the Metro Blue Line, the original P865 rail cars are being replaced with the new Kinkisharyo P3010 rail cars to enhance passenger service and improve vehicle reliability. A ceremony to commemorate the transition from the old to new rail cars will take place on June 21 at 10:30 a.m. in the Blue Line’s main rail yard in northern Long Beach.

Metro to Begin Public Scoping Meetings This Thursday for the West Santa Ana Branch Transit Corridor

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will hold public scoping meetings June 15, 20, 21 and 24 to initiate environmental studies for the West Santa Ana Branch (WSAB) Transit Corridor, a new 20-mile light rail transit line that would connect downtown Los Angeles to southeast L.A. County, serving the cities and communities of Arts District, Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, unincorporated Florence-Graham, Vernon, Huntington Park, Bell, Cudahy, South Gate, Downey, Paramount, Bellflower, Cerritos and Artesia.

Regional Connector Tunnel Boring Machine “Angeli” Breaks Through at the Grand Avenue Arts/Bunker Hill Station at 2nd Place and Hope Street in Downtown Los Angeles

Angeli, the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) mining twin tunnels for the Regional Connector Transit Project achieved a key construction milestone today as it broke through the underground wall of the Grand Avenue Arts/Bunker Hill Station in downtown Los Angeles, four months after being launched in Little Tokyo.
