Metro Receives Third Unsolicited Proposal for Sepulveda Pass Project Nine proposals for Measure M projects being evaluated

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) today announced that it has received a third unsolicited proposal for the Sepulveda Pass project – one of the mega projects included in Metro’s Measure M ballot measure. This brings to nine the number of unsolicited proposals Metro has received for projects included in Measure M.

Metro Unveils Memorial Plaque to Honor U.S. Army Private Joe Gandara at Expo Line 26th St/Bergamot Station

A plaque honoring U.S. Army Private and Medal of Honor recipient Joe Gandara was unveiled by The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro)  today at the Expo Line 26th St/Bergamot Station. Private Gandara grew up in the Pico neighborhood near the rail station and was fatally wounded during the World War II Allied invasion of Normandy in 1944.

Cell Phone Service for T-Mobile Customers Now Available in Metro Subway Stations and Tunnels along the Red/Purple Lines

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), in partnership with InSite Wireless Group and T-Mobile, now provides underground cell phone service for T-Mobile customers on the Metro Red/Purple Lines between Union Station and Wilshire/Western in  Los Angeles.

Metro Releases Annual Report to the Community Highlighting Accomplishments Made Over the Past Year

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has released its Annual Report to the Community highlighting a variety of accomplishments made throughout the year, including the opening of two rail line extensions, the launch of two express bus lines and dramatic progress in the construction of three additional rail projects.

Metro, U.S. Congressman Brad Sherman Announce $4.3 Million Federal Grant to Buy Electric Buses, Charging Stations for the Metro Orange Line

In its ongoing commitment to deploy the cleanest, most energy-efficient transit vehicles in Los Angeles County, Metro will purchase five new 60-foot electric buses and eight new charging stations for the San Fernando Valley’s Metro Orange Line thanks to a $4.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, the agency announced today.
