New Interactive Budget Tool now at Metro.net Metro Board Adopts New FY 2017 Budget

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Board of Directors  approved a $5.66-billion budget for fiscal year 2017 following a recent public hearing and other community input. The adopted budget represents over a two percent decrease from FY16 budget — even with the addition of new rail services, rising costs and new projects and programs.

Metro Bus and Rail Service Improvements and Adjustments begin Sunday, June 26; More Frequent Gold Line Trains and Improved Bus Service for CSUN and Mission College

Metro will making several changes beginning June 26 to increase the efficiency of bus and rail service. The changes planned will enhance and simplify service, improve connections and on-time performance, reduce over-crowding and adjust coordination between Metro bus and rail and municipal and regional operators.

On the heels of an aggressive public outreach effort, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) CEO Phillip A. Washington today unveiled a revised expenditure plan calling for a sustained funding approach for a possible November ballot measure that would accelerate and pay for a wide variety of transit and highway projects, roadway improvements and pedestrian and bike paths.

Metro To Close Portion of Wilshire Boulevard in the Miracle Mile for 22 Consecutive Weekends to Conduct Major Decking Operation for Purple Line Extension Project

First Major Station Construction for L.A. Subway

In the latest L.A. County transit construction milestone, Metro is ready to begin building the Wilshire/La Brea underground station for the Metro Purple Line Extension Project. Beginning Friday night, June 10, portions of Wilshire Boulevard in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles will be closed during 22 consecutive weekends for a street decking operation. Residents and motorists are advised to plan ahead, follow street detours and allow extra time to get through the area.
