Two Metro Silver Line Stations to Close Temporarily

Due to scheduled construction, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will close the Metro Silver Line stations at Cal State L.A. and LAC+USC Medical Center temporarily and will operate a free bus shuttle to minimize inconvenience.

LASD and Metro Seek Public's Help Finding Suspect in Connection with Violent Assault on Bus Operator

Following the brutal assault of a bus operator on her route on Monday, November 17, 2014, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) are seeking the public's assistance to find the suspect and bring him to justice.

Go Metro to the Hollywood Christmas Parade Sunday, Nov. 30 and Save on Grandstand Seating

Go Metro to start your holiday season at the 82nd-Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014. The parade begins at 5 p.m. in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre at Hollywood Boulevard and Orange Drive. It then proceeds east on Hollywood Blvd., south on Vine Street, and west on Sunset Boulevard back to Orange. Take the Metro Red Line to Hollywood/Highland or Hollywood/Vine Station to participate in this joyous L.A. tradition without worrying about parking or traffic (those not-so-joyous L.A. traditions).

New Mobile-Enabled Website Will Connect Veterans to Vital Transportation, Work, Healthcare Services and More

Los Angeles County Service Authority for Freeway Emergencies (LA SAFE) and Metro will launch the new mobile-enabled website on Veteran's Day, Nov. 11. is a one-stop source for veterans and others in the military community to easily obtain information on resources for work, education, healthcare, and other vital services in the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area; and to provide improved transportation services options to get them there.

L.A. Metro Breaks Ground on Purple Line Extension Project in Los Angeles

New Chapter in L.A. Subway Construction

Leaders of the L.A. County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) today joined federal, state and local elected officials in the Mid-Wilshire District of Los Angeles to break ground on the long awaited Metro Purple Line Extension Project, the largest, most ambitious public works project in the Western United States.

Two-week Nightly Closure on Century Boulevard (Nov. 10-Nov. 21) Will Mark Beginning of Construction of Aviation/Century Light Rail Aerial Station

Construction of the foundation for the Aviation/Century light rail aerial station that will serve the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project will begin Monday night, Nov. 10. Over the next two weeks until Nov. 21, construction will necessitate closure of the westbound lanes on Century Boulevard between Aviation Boulevard and Bellanca Avenue near LAX nightly Monday to Friday.
