Metro to Hold series of Public Hearings March 18 & 26 on Unmet Public Transit Needs for the City of Avalon and the North County

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will be holding a series of unmet Public Transit Needs, Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 8 public hearings for the use of TDA Article 8 funds in the City of Avalon and in the North County.

Metro CEO, Executives to Visit High Schools along Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project Alignment to Promote Professional Career Opportunities

Metro and LASD target fare evasion on the Metro Orange Line

To reduce fare evasion on the Orange Line, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) Transit Services Bureau (TSB) have joined in a two-pronged effort to improve communication and enforce laws requiring riders to buy fare and use TAP cards when riding the Metro system.

Metro Service Councils to hold “Fare Forums” at their Regular March Meetings to Discuss Proposed Fare Restructuring Plan; Regular Public Hearing Set for Saturday, March 29

Metro’s Regional Connector Project Receives Full Funding Grant Agreement from the Federal Transit Administration

Metro joined federal, state and local elected officials today to announce the receipt of a Full Funding Grant Agreement (FFGA) from the Federal Transit Administration in the amount of $670 million to fund the $1.37 billion Regional Connector Project.

On the night of Thursday, February 13 through the morning of Friday, February 14, 2014, the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements contractor is scheduled to conduct a full southbound I-405 closure from Getty Center Drive to Wilshire Boulevard from midnight to 5 a.m.

Metro and Caltrans to hold a High Desert Corridor Rail Webcast

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) are hosting a live webinar to discuss the High Desert Corridor's (HDC) potential rail component and connections to the Palmdale Transportation Center in Palmdale and Desert Xpress in Victorville. The webcast will be streamed live on Feb. 26, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. on https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/4621315897213406209. Many people have stories of finding love via transit. Bumping into someone on a crowded bus and suddenly hitting it off. Northbound I-405 Freeway Closures in West Los Angeles Planned for Three Consecutive Nights, Feb. 7, 8 and 9

The northbound I-405 will be fully closed in various segments between Wilshire Boulevard and Getty Center Drive on the nights of Friday, February 7, Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9, 2014 to facilitate realignment of lanes and to accommodate work at the freeway median for roadway widening.

L.A. Metro to Hold Two Meetings for Purple Line Subway Extension Project February 13

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will be hosting two meetings on February 13 for those who live and work near the future Wilshire/La Cienega Station of the Purple Line Extension.  Individuals who live and work along Wilshire between La Cienega and San Vicente, as well as on La Cienega, Hamilton, Gale, Tower and San Vicente are especially encouraged to attend.
