Southbound I-405 Freeway Closure Between Sunset and Wilshire Boulevards in West L.A. Planned December 28, 2013

The I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project contractor is scheduled to implement a full directional closure of the Southbound I-405 between Sunset Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard in West L.A. the night of Saturday, December 28, from midnight to 6 a.m. on Sunday morning, December 29, 2013. The closures will facilitate the realignment of lanes to accommodate roadway widening and drainage work along the freeway median.

The I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project contractor is scheduled to implement a full directional closure of the Southbound I-405 between Santa Monica Boulevard and National Boulevard in West L.A. the night of Thursday, December 26, from midnight to 5 a.m. on Friday morning, December 27, 2013. The closures will facilitate the realignment of lanes to accommodate roadway widening and drainage work along the freeway median.

L.A. METRO MARKS 10TH OFFICIAL YEAR OF METRO RAIL SERVICE TO TOURNAMENT OF ROSES® CELEBRATIONS

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will mark its 10th official year of Metro Rail service to the 2014 Tournament of Roses Parade® celebrations this New Year's Day, providing a decade of public transportation directly to the world-renowned Pasadena parade events.

Southbound I-405 Freeway Closure Between U.S. 101 and Getty Center Off-Ramp Planned December 19, 21, 2013

The I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project contractor is scheduled to implement a full directional closure of the Southbound I-405 between the U.S. 101 and Getty Center Drive off-ramp the nights of December 19 and 21, 2013. The closures will accommodate the shifting of K-rail and traffic lanes.

'Carmageddon' Bridge Reopens to the Public 

The iconic Mulholland Bridge that spawned two unprecedented weekend closures of the nation's busiest freeway and introduced the word "Carmageddon" into the American vernacular was fully reopened to traffic in Los Angeles at 6 a.m. Wednesday after nearly two and a half years of intensive bridge reconstruction work.

Artist Christine Nguyen to Sign Metro ‘Long Beach’ Poster at Stearns Champions Park Saturday, Jan. 11

Metro and the City of Long Beach will hold a free poster signing event for artist Christine Nguyen on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Stearns Champions Park Social Hall. Nguyen was commissioned by Metro to create the artwork for the Through the Eyes of Artists poster series. The program commissions local artists to create original artworks that express the uniqueness of Los Angeles County neighborhoods as a way of encouraging people to take Metro and explore destinations served by the agency.

Metro Presents: Dr. Pinch and the Pinchtones Swing Music Show at Union Station Friday, Dec. 13

Grab your dancing shoes and all your friends for a night of WWII-era swing music by Independent Shakespeare Co.'s Dr. Pinch and the Pinchtones at historic Union Station on Friday, Dec. 13. The group will appear as part of Metro's program of arts and entertainment at the iconic station. The performance will take place inside the former Fred Harvey Restaurant, a dramatic space that is usually closed to the public.

Metro Bus Service Changes Go into Effect Sunday, Dec. 15

Effective Sunday, Dec. 15, Metro will be making minor adjustments to service on select Metro Bus lines to improve bus to rail  connections, on-time performance and reduce over-crowding on the bus system.
