Metro Presents: 2nd Street Brass Band at Union Station Friday, Nov. 8

Swing by Union Station during lunchtime on Friday, Nov. 8 and catch a free performance by 2nd Street Brass, a 5-piece brass band made up of students from the downtown Los Angeles Colburn School of Performing Arts. The group will appear in the Main Concourse waiting area as part of Metro's new program of arts and cultural events planned for the iconic station.

Go Metro to AFI FEST and Receive Exclusive Special Offers at Nearby Destinations

AFI FEST film festival takes place in Hollywood from Thursday, Nov. 7 through Thursday, Nov. 14. The festival will showcase the best independent films of the year and is the only film festival of international stature free to the public. Films will be shown at the TCL Chinese Theatres, Chinese 6, the Egyptian Theatre, and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, all locations that are mere steps from the Metro Red Line Hollywood/Highland Station.

Metro Provides Information to South LA Small, Minority and Women Owned Business during Business Opportunity Summit

Metro today hosted a Business Opportunity Summit at the California African American Museum in Exposition Park. The goal was to share work and career opportunities with small businesses and individuals along the alignment so that they can take part in the economic benefits created by construction of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project.

Full I-405 closure in Sepulveda Pass planned Saturday night, Oct. 26

The I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project will be pouring the concrete deck for the new Skirball Drive Bridge in the Sepulveda Pass, work that will require the full closure of both directions of the I-405 in the area beginning this Saturday night, October 26.

Metro to Run Special Extended Service on All Rail Lines and Metro Orange Line for HARD Day of the Dead Music Festival

Metro will offer extended late-night Metro Rail service on Sunday, Nov. 3 for HARD Day of the Dead. The event, set for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 2 - 3, will take place at Los Angeles Historic State Park, a short walk from both the Metro Gold Line Chinatown Station and Los Angeles Union Station.

Go Metro to the Taste of Soul Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19

Metro is participating in the 8th annual Taste of Soul, one of Los Angeles' largest street festivals on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Crenshaw Boulevard, between Stocker Street and Rodeo Road.

Metro Presents Upcoming Free Events at Union Station Featuring Music, Magic, Art

Metro Presents, a new series of arts and cultural programs at historic Union Station, is pleased to announce the following upcoming free events: a performance by Atabey, a Puerto Rican Bomba dancing, drumming and singing group (facebook.com/Atabeybomba); and The Magic of Smoke and Mirrors, a theatrical magic show by Road Theatre Company (roadtheatre.org). Metro Art Moves, a guided tour showcasing Metro station art, begins the week after in November.

Go Metro and Save at Taste of Italy in Downtown L.A. Oct 12

Celebrate Italian American culture and cuisine at Taste of Italy, an evening of premier gastronomy, music, and entertainment hosted by the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles and Italy America Chamber of Commerce. Metro Freeway Crew to Start Landscaping and Maintenance, Continue Clean Up to Enhance Safety for Motorists on I-110, I-710

The Metro Freeway Beautification Project (Metro Freeway Crew), a pilot program dedicated to mitigating graffiti, removing debris and enhancing the landscape on the I-110 and I-710 freeways, is set to begin landscaping and maintenance work in October. The Metro Freeway Crew is funded with $4.7 million through Metro's general fund and is intended to augment Caltrans efforts in the upkeep of these two corridors.
