Metro Board Approves Two Year Contract Extension for Metro CEO Arthur T. Leahy

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Board of Directors today approved a two-year contract extension with options for two additional one year extensions to Metro CEO Art Leahy following a closed session to discuss Leahy's employment.

55-Hour Northbound-Only I-405 Freeway Lane Reductions between Montana Avenue and Getty Center Drive Off-Ramp Planned Beginning Friday, March 1, 2013

Beginning Friday night, March 1, 2013, the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project will reduce the northbound I-405 from five lanes to two between Montana Avenue off-ramp and the Getty Center off-ramp in West Los Angeles for 55 hours. The southbound I-405 and Sepulveda Boulevard will remain open.

Metro and Caltrans Mark the Opening of Metro ExpressLanes Along 14-miles of the I-10 San Bernardino Freeway on Saturday, February 23

Following on the heels of the successful opening late last year of 11-miles of Metro ExpressLanes along the Harbor Freeway, Metro and Caltrans officials joined federal, state and local elected leaders today in a preview ceremony to mark the opening of Los Angeles County's second set of Metro ExpressLanes scheduled for 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23.

 All Metro operated buses and Metro Rail trains that include the Metro Red Line, Purple Line Blue Line, Green Line and Gold Line will operate on a regular schedule on Presidents' Day, Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.

55-Hour Northbound-Only I-405 Freeway Lane Reductions between Montana Avenue and Getty Center Drive Off-Ramp Planned Beginning Friday, March 1, 2013

Beginning Friday night, March 1, 2013, the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project will reduce the northbound I-405 from five lanes to two between Montana Avenue and the Getty Center off-ramp in West Los Angeles for 55 hours.  The contractor will pave the future High-Occupancy Vehicle lane (HOV) and realign the I-405 in this area. Motorists are advised to anticipate potential delays when traveling through the 2.4-mile lane reduction area and take alternate northbound routes if necessary.

Metro Bus service detours for Academy Awards, Hollywood/Highland Station closed during the Oscars

Metro Red Line subway trains will operate on a regular schedule but will pass through the Metro Red Line Hollywood/Highland Station without stopping on Sunday, Feb. 24 from open to close due to the 85th Academy Awards show at the Dolby Theater. There will be no public access to Hollywood/Highland Station. Customers are advised to use the Hollywood/Vine Station as an alternative and transfer to nearby bus service or walk
